ISLE OF MAN GOES FAIRTRADE
7 July 2008: The Isle of Man has been officially named as a Fairtrade Island, reports the BBC.
Senior representative of the Fairtrade Foundation, Bruce Cowther, presented the certificate and the status means that anyone attending a council meeting will now be offered Fairtrade tea or coffee.
The Isle of Man government will now encourage local companies to sell or use the Fairtrade products.
