ABOUT LEAVE IT OUT

We're a specialist eating out guide on a mission to stamp out second best. When it comes to eating out, we all have different needs and preferences but with the help of our community, the days of dodgy dining experiences are numbered.

Whether yours is a gluten-free-fairtrade-takeaway, a child-friendly-veggie-sunday-lunch or a romantic-meal-with-step-free-access-and-no nuts we're here to help you find exactly what you're looking for wherever you are, all over the UK.

More than that, we encourage consumer empowerment, so we invite you to rate, review and add new places as you find them to help the site grow and become ever more detailed.

We work with restaurants across the UK as well as with leading organisations and charities in the allergy, disability and human rights sectors. We're a small but growing business with headquarters in London.

NIC COE – Managing Director

Nic deals with the general running of Leave It Out which can include anything from dealing with the technical and design aspects of the site, to meeting with charities, organisations and individual restaurants.

He had the idea for the site while struggling to adjust to a gluten free diet and felt there needed to be a simple and enjoyable solution to eating ethically or living with a restricted diet.

I’ve always been someone who’s much more interested in knowing about things I can do, rather than being told what I can’t. Through our research I’m constantly amazed by the huge choice out there waiting to be unearthed and can’t wait for people to share places they know and love.

KATE SIDDIQUI – Marketing and Content Manager

Kate's job is to let everyone know about Leave It Out and to make sure all our information is relevant, engaging and up to date. She's constantly talking to users, health professionals, restaurants and advertisers, and she'd be delighted to hear from you!
Kate loves dining out, and is passionate about giving the consumer choice and a voice when it comes to where and what they eat.

DR ADAM FOX – MA(Hons), MSc, MB, BS, DCHMA (Hons)

Adam is one of only a handful of specialist Paediatric Allergists in the UK and works at a leading London teaching hospital, where he sees hundreds of patients with food allergies every year. As the Medical Consultant for Leave It Out, he lends his extensive expertise and perspective to our health articles.

He’s published scientific articles in many international medical journals and has given invited lectures around the world. Adam is an adviser for The Anaphylaxis Campaign and Allergy UK and was recently named Paediatric Allergist of the year by the charity Allergy UK (applause).

Eating out is an area that requires great care and Leave It Out will be a liberating experience for food allergy sufferers across the country. Throughout my working day I meet many people who are often faced with awkwardness and frustration when they go out to eat.

Tanya Wright – BSc hons, HPC registered

As a specialist dietitian for an NHS allergy clinic, Tanya works with hundreds of adults and children each year in the diagnosis and management of food allergies and other food hypersensitivities. This invaluable experience brings practical insight and perspective to Leave It Out.

Tanya is a prolific writer, regularly lectures around the UK and works extensively as a consultant for both the private and public sectors. She is also an advisor for the Anaphylaxis Campaign and Allergy UK.

As a dietitian and food allergy sufferer, I appreciate how challenging and frustrating eating out can be for so many people. Leave It Out is a unique resource that finally offers positive and practical help. I will certainly be recommending it to my clients.
